A response to Wayne Besen — Most Americans understand that Biden did not cause the fall of Roe v. Wade, since Trump appointed 3 justices to the Supreme Court and 3 others were appointed by Republicans named Bush (and we get reminded all the time who appointed whom).
Oddly though, almost nobody applies the same thinking to the economy. It's noteworthy, since Trump only appointed 33% of the judges on the Supreme Court, but appointed 83% of the governors of the Federal Reserve Board. Media only tells a 'rates up/rates down' story, never focusing on politics at work.
In May 2022, Biden's appointees took a majority on the Federal Reserve Board, and efforts ramped up to rein in inflation.
This actually fits neatly with your thesis on this post:
* Republicans need consistent, repeated injections of "hate" so they cannot possibly blame Trump or any of the other Republican officials for causing problems and/or failure to rectify them. Similarly, 'elections fraud' is possible even in states where GOP dominates executive, law enforcement, legislature, and judiciary. And so on (foreigners are illegally stealing our jobs - but they're also lazy - and why do the GOP leaders keep giving them jobs anyway...oh right, the 'murderers and rapists' again...).
* Democrats (generally) focus on "hope" because excess blame isn't gonna help the Federal Reserve Board use what power it has effectively, and may backfire. Tools of blame take months/years to operate - and applied to wealthy people, that can be stretched into decades. Focus on what we can do now, and hope it's enough to make things a little better.
